The Helleborus is low maintenance and can tolerate temperatures as low as -20 degrees! It protects its flowers against the frost by pumping moisture out of the flowers and storing it temporarily in the leaves and roots. The flowers will start to droop a little, but they won’t freeze! And once the frost is over, the Helleborus pumps water back to the flowers and the plant regains its beauty!
